We had our preschool Christmas party this past week. We had a lot of fun! In years past, I’ve had to come up with my own party ideas. But, with Mother Goose Time, activities are sent and prepared for me in the Christmas Celebration Kit.
We started off the morning by pretending to be reindeer. We talked about how a reindeer might move. Each student took a turn to spin the spinner. We pretended to be reindeer jumping, galloping, and walking across the room.
Next, we read The Night Before Christmas and used story pieces to tell the story. Using story pieces kept the students more engaged. They wanted to put the reindeer in the order they were listed in the story. This was a great activity for sequencing.
Finally, we made Santa puppets. The students glued everything on the spoon that needed to be there: eyes, hat, nose, and beard. Then, one student said, “Santa isn’t wearing clothes! I need to draw a coat on him.” The other students followed and soon our Santa puppets were complete.
The girls had a lot of fun at our party and are very excited for Christmas morning!
** I receive curriculum from Mother Goose Time for honest and authentic stories resulting from my daily experiences using the curriculum. This is my 3rd year using Mother Goose Time, and I am pleased to promote quality educational learning experiences through play with Mother Goose Time!
